SSH authentication prompts

SSH and Git use a persistent systemd user agent with native DankMaterialShell prompts. Install OpenSSH, DankMaterialShell, Python, and systemd, then run ./install.sh, or install only this feature with ./scripts/install-ssh-agent-gtk4.

The setup routes OpenSSH askpass requests through the DankMaterialShell SSH Authentication daemon for passwords, passphrases, keyboard-interactive replies, host-key decisions, and agent key-use confirmation. Host prompts show the server key fingerprint. Agent key-use prompts start the enrolled fingerprint reader automatically through PAM, with “Allow once” as a fallback. The shared SSH defaults enable agent confirmation and SHA256/visual host keys. The first migration restarts the agent once to clear previously loaded keys; subsequent installer runs preserve it. Private keys stay in ~/.ssh/. New shells load the settings immediately; restart existing desktop apps or log in again to inherit the new environment.
